El Nino Memorial Tournament - Saturday, August 29th & Sunday, August 30th

This billfish tournament this year is dedicated to past DAC Members Cliff and Dennis Allen. This particular tournament we try to get members their first marlin catch as a DAC member. Extra 50 points for these DAC member anglers towards their score. We'd like to see all participating boats have at least one rookie marlin angler on their boats for this opportunity. See tournament flyer for all the details. Mail in line samples of all catches to Fish Chairman Bob Waters. Line samples only required for line classes below 30# test line (8#, 12#, 16#, 20#). You still should be using tournament line for 30#, 50# and 80# lines.

Fishing with his Dad Trevor, in small craft winds, Luke Blackann captured the First Junior Dorado Flag with a nice 14.0 Pound catch. Great job to the Blackann Family

First Junior Yellowtail Flag

Fishing on Dock Holiday, Luke Blackann caught a 18.55 lb Yellowtail off San Mateo Point on August 10 to capture the Junior First Flag.

2026 Ladies and Junior Tournament

2026 Ladies & Juniors Tournament

The Annual Tournament starts on August 15th and ends on August 16th.

No line class for this tournament. Scoring is based on fish weight and points per pound.

Enter 1 species per person for each species.

Species include Marlin, Dorado, Yellowtail, Tuna, White Seabass and Swordfish.

Juniors are under age 18.

DAC Scale

DAC Members.

The DAC electronic scale has malfunctioned. We are sending it out for repair.

Please use the Red scale that John has at the Dana Point Fuel Dock until our scale has been either fixed or replaced.

If you have a personal scale that has a 2026 certificate, you can use it. But only on land with a picture of fish and weight.

Tuna Tournament. July 25 to August 2.

Hello DAC Members.

The annual Tuna Tournament starts on July 25 and ends on August 2, 2026.

This is another line class tournament.

Spreader bars of any type are not allowed in this tournament or for any club catches. Use spreader bars only if you want to meat fish.

Line class run from 2 pound to 80 pound max. Mono top shot has to be IGFA legal length.

First Dorado Flag Captured!

Fishing on his boat Fish Styx, Alex Plambeck caught a 10.2 pound Dorado to capture the first flag. The fish jumped on a trolled Marlin lure near the shipping lanes.

Yellow Tail Tournament

The Annual Yellow Tail Tournament runs from July11 to July 12.

This is another line class tournament. Lines classes form 2 lb to 50 lb max.

All IGFA rules apply.

Top Boat and Heaviest Fish awards will be given.

Mail 20 foot lines samples to Bob Waters house in Laguna Niguel.
